Think ahead
Notice routes, exits, distance and the behaviour that can signal a situation is escalating.

Teen · Ages 13–15
Your parent or carer has already looked at StreetReady and talked with you about the training and free trial. I made this page for you to read together, so you can get a clear picture of the class, discuss any questions and know what to expect before you come along.
The walk home. An unfamiliar train. A situation that changes faster than expected. StreetReady helps you read what is happening, manage pressure and act without looking for trouble.

Training for real life
Can you trust your instincts without panicking? Can you set a boundary without making things worse? Can you leave before pride makes the decision for you?
Teen StreetReady deals with situations that are becoming part of your world: public transport, nights out, phones, online contact that moves offline and pressure from other people. You will train verbal de-escalation, striking and defences at teen intensity, along with an introduction to weapons awareness. The point is not to win a fight. It is to recognise risk, create an opportunity and get away.
Notice routes, exits, distance and the behaviour that can signal a situation is escalating.
Use voice, posture and positioning to be clear without feeding the conflict.
If physical defence becomes necessary, respond simply, decisively and only long enough to escape.

A shared plan
Family Workshops create space to talk and train together—without awkward lectures. Young people and adults practise awareness, boundaries, de-escalation, escape and simple physical responses, building a shared plan for difficult moments.
