Read the moment
Notice body language, distance, exits and the small signals that tell you a situation is changing.

Junior · Ages 10–12
Your parent or carer has already looked at StreetReady and explained the training and free trial to you. I made this page for you to read together, so you can understand what happens in class, talk about your questions and know what to expect before you arrive.
Real confidence is not about looking tough. It is about noticing what is changing, thinking under pressure and making the choice that gets you home safely.

Your StreetReady class
What changes just before an argument begins? When should you speak, move away or get help? Could you stay calm enough to choose?
Junior StreetReady combines practical skills with thinking skills. You will practise recognising pre-conflict signals, controlling stress and making decisions under mild pressure. Physical training includes pad work and age-appropriate defences against punches, kicks, grabs, bearhugs and chokes, plus ground-survival basics. Avoiding and escaping danger always comes first.
Notice body language, distance, exits and the small signals that tell you a situation is changing.
Practise simple decisions until moving, speaking and getting help feel more natural.
Learn how breathing, posture and repetition help you think when your heart is racing.
